And, yes, my current version of SA did magically reinstall itself after rebooting the computer (there's an installation file on a network drive that Windows 10 says it can't access to uninstall), and it still wants me to upgrade it but again the installation cancels because of this error while upgrading issue. So the only outstanding issue is this SupportAssist thing. So this problem appears to be solved! That's a huge relief: it's only a quiet buzzing sound but it drives me crazy after just 5 minutes of listening to it - made me worry that the computer was about to blow its version of a fuse, or even its CPU. Mercifully, the buzzing noise has not returned. I'll just fire up DaVinci and see if the buzzing noise returns with the keyboard plugged into the right-side USB ports. If I plug the keyboard in either of the two USB ports on the right of the machine the buzzing noise does not return. If I plug the keyboard back into either of those two ports the buzzing noise resumes. If I unplug the keyboard from either of the two USB ports on the left of the Alienware 17 (left, as when looking at the screen / front of the machine) the buzzing noise immediately stops. It's my USB keyboard, which is a cheapo AUKEY mechanical keyboard. UPDATE: Just found out what's causing the buzzing sound. I think if I reboot my computer my current version of SA will magically be reinstalled, but I'll have to check this after posting this message. Crowntakers annoying buzzing sound install#I've uninstalled my current version of SA and tried to reinstall it again via the Dell UK website, but I get the same message so still can't install the latest version. Please reboot your PC and try again." Rebooting doesn't help. Crowntakers annoying buzzing sound update#The other thing is when I run SupportAssist it keeps prompting me to update it, but every time I try and upgrade SA I get this message: "We encountered an error while upgrading SupportAssist. This buzzing noise is not solely related to DaVinci - occasionally the buzzing sound starts when the computer runs other programs too. Sometimes the buzzing noise goes away again when I close DaVinci Resolve, other times not. Now I have a different problem - I cant seem to eliminate the buzz sound coming out of my PC speakers when connected to the Female Scart BNC. When I plug the power connector back into the computer the buzzing sound remains absent but if I run certain programs, most notably DaVinci Resolve, the buzzing noise returns. Hi Guys, So I managed to get another scart switch (Hama) and now I can switch consoles no problem and the sync is in tact. The sound seems to be power-related because I can stop it by unplugging the power connector. Couple of points: Got an Alienware 17 r2 and it's started making an annoying buzzing sound.
